Science

"The purpose of Science education is to provide the student with the knowledge, skills and curiosity so that they may achieve a greater connection to, and thus a greater responsibility for, the world around them." (John Dewey)

The three goals of the science program are as follows:

  1. to relate science to technology, society, and the environment
  2. to develop the skills, strategies and habits of mind required for scientific inquiry
  3. to understand the basic concepts of science

Every course in the secondary science curriculum focuses on these three goals.
