Principal’s Message

A Message from the Principal

Madawaska Valley District School (MVDS) is truly a unique community where students embark on a continuous journey of learning, growth, and discovery from Junior Kindergarten right through to graduation. At MVDS, we are more than just a school; we are a dedicated JK-12 family that fosters strong relationships, mentorship, and a shared sense of belonging across all grade levels.

Our Core Commitment

Our commitment is simple: to provide a learning environment where every student is fully engaged, can achieve academic excellence, and develop the resilience and critical thinking skills needed for future success.

We believe in nurturing the whole child, focusing not only on core curriculum subjects but also on well-being, character development, and citizenship. Our teachers and staff are dedicated, highly professional educators who are passionate about creating stimulating classrooms and supportive spaces that cater to the diverse needs of all our learners.

The Home-School Partnership

The success of our students is deeply rooted in the partnership between home and school. We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to actively engage with us, whether it's through:

  • Volunteering your time.

  • Attending school events.

  • Staying in regular communication with your child's teachers.

Your insight and support are invaluable as we guide our students through the various stages of their education—from their first day in JK to their final walk across the graduation stage. Together, we can make the years at MVDS rewarding and unforgettable.

I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our programs, upcoming events, and the many ways you can get involved. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the main office or contact me directly if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.

Yours in Education,

Kim Carruthers
Principal
